Caron Technology spreading tables are suitable for manual spreading and for all kinds of Caron spreaders.

Holding table structure powder painted, table legs every 75 cm with adjustable feet, strong galvanized spreader rails mounted on both side of the table and a double operator platform rail, assure a sturdy table construction.

The 3 cm table top made in “noble fibre” rimmed in ABS (resistant rigid plastic) assures fabric fluidity, table shock-resistance and long working life. The power feeding system can be installed on pre-drilled holes on both side of the table. The table tops are sectioned in standard modules of 150 cm in length. Different Heights available

Optimize material utilization

The GERBERspreader XLs system accurately aligns fabric edges so users can nest parts closer to the beginning, end and edges of the spread, eliminating end loss and optimizing material utilization.

Choose the flexible solution

The GERBERspreader XLs system spreads woven or knit materials from either rolls or flat folded packs. Optional end catcher device accommodates face up one way or face-to-face (zigzag) spreading.

Loading and unloading is simple

The fabric roll cradle feed system tilts automatically for easy material loading and unloading. The GERBERspreader XLs system features an intuitive, icon-driven user interface.

Conveyor Tables

The combination between conveyorized tables and automatic cutter provides the ideal solution for a fast and tension-free movement of the fabric lays from the spreading area to the cutting one.

Being built on the same sturdy construction of the basic spreading table, has all its features. Table top made in “PVC” band with textile internal structure is placed over a 3 cm “MDF” plane. The conveyorized spreading table speed can be synchronized to the cutter or between two conveyor tables mounted on line. Each section is equipped with a motorization kit. The automatic or semi-automatic forward or reverse belt progress is activated by a simple control panel.

Air BLowing-Vacuum Table

GERBER TECHNOLOGY-GERBER SPREADER XLS


The air blowing table creates an air cushion over which the spreeded fabric floats in order to be moved easily.

Ideal for long tables and heavy weight material. Being built on the same sturdy structure of the basic spreading table, it has all its features. Table top made in “noble fibre” rimmed in ABS with internal “air space”, it has holes every 13 cm to ensure regular air diffusion and to avoid air wasting. The air pipe line, connected to a unique hole of 10 cm placed on the back side of each table top module, joins the table tops to the air blowing motor. One blower every 6-7 meters of air blowing table is recommended (depending on actual table width and material weight pr. square meter).

Ideal for spreading pad and quilting material, the air vacuum table can be used on all those situations where fabric lays volumes must be reduced or blocked before cutting.

It has all the features of the air blowing table but the holes on the table top that are every 6, 5 cm to ensure perfect vacuum effect. One vacuum motor, placed inside a metallic soundproof box, is recommendable for 6 meters of table. Air vacuum and blowing can be combined on a unique table

Manual Transfer Table

The manual transfer table on wheels allows the spreader to be moved between two spreading lines.

It increases cutting room efficiency and is the ideal solution when facilities dimensions are not proportional to the actual productivity needs. Built on the same sturdy structure of the basic spreading table. Easy-to-do hooking and unhooking operations granted by dedicated connections.

Needles Table

The needle table is designed to spread squared and stripes fabrics allowing a perfect symmetry of the cut patterns.

It can be part of the spreading line (optional) or placed at the end of it (standard). The needles table is made of a sturdy holding structure with adjustable feet, a table top and a lower internal plane. The 2, 5 cm table top with its white laminated surface, rimmed in ABS, has holes every 10 cm. The motorized lower plane allows the needles ascent and descent. Table is equipped with 20 needles available on five different diameters: 1 – 1, 2 – 1, 6 – 1, 8 and 2 mm. Customized holes pitch on request.

Titan

CARON TECHNOLOGY-TITAN


The TITAN single platform loader lifts the fabric roll from the ground to the York single sheet cradle and vice versa, facilitating loading and unloading operations. The new Titan charger is compact and modern in design. The concave-shaped mobile platform with an integrated ramp accommodates rolls weighing up to 100 kg and with a maximum diameter of 60 cm.

The automatic tilting of the mobile platform in the upper position ensures a smooth passage of the piece to the cot cradle, a cradle that will be in the loading position. Simple and fast in movement, it is a valid tool for reducing changeover times. To simplify use, the controls of the loader are managed directly by the color touch screen panel and integrated with those of the cradle. A safety system ensures the automatic stop of the platform by detecting the presence of an obstacle. The loader is also installed on pivoting wheels with brakes which allow it to be moved if necessary. 

Loader

Caron’s Loader lifts fabric rolls from the floor to the spreader cradle and vice versa facilitating the loading and unloading operations.

A gentle passage of the fabric roll to the tilted spreader cradle is ensured by the automatic tilting of the platform at the upper position. Fast and smooth on its movements, the elevator is ideal for time saving during the roll change. Intuitive and clear operator panel for its easy handling. The safety system ensures automatic stop of the platform in presence of obstacles. The loading system and the manual or motorized transfer table on rails can be moved together with the addition of an optional joint-kit and of guide rails to be installed on the floor.

York

Single ply feeder YORK, designed with a new ergonomic design and with the distinction of having the direct threading of the material into the automatic cutter. The single ply feeder YORK has a new color control panel, touch screen multilingual with an easy and intuitive dedicated software but at the same precise and that allows you to synchronize the cradle electronically with any type of automatic cutter. Phoenix

We have built our single ply cradle system Phoenix with the best materials and components in order to create a machine that is able to guarantee an excellent quality of fabric feeding, when dealing with both, rigid, or elastic materials. It is delivered already tested and ready to work with any kind of automated cutting system and with no need to be further connected to it.

It is user friendly and therefore it may easily be used bu any operator. It features an electronic bar that, in combination with a specific inverter, perfectly controls the speed of the fabric feeding, in order to avoid the appearance of tensions. Its alignment photocell automatically lines up the fabric, and it ensures a precise stringing to the automated cutting system.

It is possible to spread reverse wound fabric rolls with the use of an additional device.

Automatic rewinding and threading during turntable rotation movement that takes place while idle running to spread point. “S” Line is dedicated to flexible materials different from the standard fabric, as Foam, technical textile etc. LION “S” hold all the characteristics of the standard version adding some specific tools for these specific materials. The new axial control system CNC assures a completely accurate loading of all kinds of flexible materials, even those that are more difficult to be spread; Lion can work both, with or without the operator,and it enables you to choose between semiautomated or automated working cycles. The new graphic touch screen color icon driven operator panel, and main functions placed on the speed handle, interact directly with the operator, and they guarantee a quick learning even for less experienced users. It is possible, using the operator panel, either to program manually the material length and number of plies to spread, or to use the guided touch spread length programming. Puma is compatible with industry 4.0, in fact can be connected with a pc or tablet by Wi-fi in order to transfer spreading data and control step by step production planning more over a remote support will be possible. The spreading data in alternative can be directly sent to the spreader with a Barcode Reader. With Puma it’s possible to install a camera just to see at the same time what the machine do and which kind of material was also spread .

The new driving belt decrease the noise and avoid the maintenance work.

Gerber Paragon cutters have three add-on options for vacuum control, whereas Z1 has two levels of vacuum control.

Gerber Paragon Vaccum Control Features & Benefits:
“Vacuum Regulation” (Vac Reg):

  • Enables an operator to set and save a vacuum level for cutting to a Material Configuration file.
  • Helps to provide an optimal vacuum level for a particular fabric, instead of simply half or full suction.
  • Particularly important to clients that cut various materials, such as “Contract Cutting” facilities or Automotive seating.

“Bite Under Vacuum” (BUV):

  • Keeps the vacuum on while the cutter is advancing/biting to the next cutting window.
  • Beneficial to customers that have highly-compressible materials under vacuum, such as bedding fabrics, automotive foam laminates, and some lingerie materials
  • Greatly improves cut quality and may enable more plies to be cut. Since highly-compressible materials significantly compress under vacuum and then decompress when vacuum is released, the dynamics of this compression/decompression cycle can cause materials to shift and in some cases hit the knife bowl.

“Continuous Cut Workflow”(CCUT):

  • Utilizes both Vac Reg and BUV, ensuring the cutter does not bite during the cut.
  • Greatly increases cutter throughput with CCUT for some customers and doesn;t for others – this determination is based on the marker and geometry of cut parts; there is also a 2.5 inch/Hg (5cm) limit on cutting vacuum.

NOTE: We highly recommend a test and/or trial before this feature is sold to a customer, to avoid potential disappointment from unmet expectations.

Z1 Vaccum Control Features & Benefits:

  • Z1-1.8 cutters can be configured with the optional Productivity Pack, which includes Variable Vacuum Regulation (VVR), Continuous Workflow (CCUT), and a touch screen monitor. VVR regulates vacuum to a constant level throughout cutting. CCUT works as outlined above and can benefit customers producing larger parts.
  • Z1-2.54 and Z1-3.4 come standard with VVR. For these formats, Productivity Pack is not available as an option, but CCUT and the touch screen monitor are available as a-la-carte options.
  • All Z1 configurations allow for control of Cut, Idle, and Bite vacuum levels.

Apparel software and systems supplier Gerber Technology has launched a new fashion platform that offers a complete package to set-up a “purchase-activated” fashion model.

FashionTech Platform 1.0 has been launched to address the challenge of personalistion due to changing consumer expectations and needs, the company says.

It includes software, equipment and consulting for a digitally integrated e-commerce and on-demand design to print, cut and sew micro-factory operation. The first installation will be implemented in partnership with OnPoint Manufacturing in Florence, Alabama and PAAT, Inc in Nashville, Tennessee.
“Our eco-system, the expertise of our people and recent advances in our technology are enabling us to deliver value to our customers, helping them to achieve the countless benefits of a demand generated micro-factory,” says Karsten Newbury, SVP and GM of Software at Gerber. “To effectively achieve this concept you need a strong knowledge base and products that can digitally integrate the design through production workflow with speed and efficiency.”

Gerber says FashionTech Platform 1.0 eliminates costly inventory and re-defines just-in-time manufacturing, so production adjusts as demands fluctuate – allowing products to be produced more efficiently and sold at full retail price without heavy discounting.

The platform includes an e-commerce virtual try-on application developed by Avametric, and the complete set of Gerber’s Digital Solutions tools including the newest software releases of YuniquePLM, a cloud-based product lifecycle management software, and AccuMark, a pattern design, grading, marker making and production planning software as well as AccuMark 3D.

Data will be transmitted directly to the micro-factory environment where the optimised marker files from AccuMark will drive a digital printer to print and continuously feed finished textiles to a GerberCutter Z1 with CountourVision. A combination of robotic and lean loop sewing operations will be deployed depending upon apparel finishing requirements.

The addition of MCT’s high-end large format cutting builds on Gerber’s heritage in the sign & graphics and packaging industries, as well as giving Gerber a key technology platform to serve its industrial markets.

MCT and Gerber are both recognized as pioneers providing integrated software and hardware solutions. Their track records of 30 and 50 years respectively have delivered innovative technologies that has transformed the way their customers work. Gerber invented automated cutting in 1968 and the company continues to create the world’s most integrated design and production ecosystem of hardware and software in the apparel, home and leisure, and transportation markets.

End-to-End 3D Solution For Fashion Industry

TOLLAND, CONN., USA, Oct. 4, 2018 – Gerber Technology announced today that it has acquired San Francisco based Avametric.  Avametric develops the world’s leading cloth simulation technology and enables fashion brands to deliver highly accurate 3D renderings of their products on customizable avatars for e-commerce and augmented reality (AR) applications.

This move will position Gerber as the leader in 3D for the fashion and apparel industry. The acquisition follows 12 months of collaboration between the companies after Gerber announced in November 2017 they would be integrating Avametric’s fabric simulation engine into their AccuMark® 3D platform.

“Avametric’s strengths and capabilities are the perfect complement to our fully integrated software portfolio. Easy Plan creates the cut plan automatically and generates all marker files needed. Users can interactively edit cut plan results.

Make Markers Automatically or Interactively.
When making markers, users have a choice. They can either place pieces manually or send markers to AccuNest™ for completely automated marker making. AccuNest employs powerful algorithms to analyze multiple nesting solutions and deliver the one with the highest material utilization.

AccuMark Generates a Cut Ticket with Barcode Containing Details for Each Spread.
AccuMark generates a cut ticket report and a barcode containing the marker name, material type and color, and number of plies needed for each spread in the work order.

Spreader Operator Scans the Barcode to Retrieve Spread Details.
The spreader operator simply scans the barcode and retrieves all necessary information to prepare the spread job including number of plies, spread length and spreading mode.

Paragon Cutter Operator Scans the Barcode to Retrieve the File to be Cut.
When the spread is complete, the spreading system’s wireless barcode printer generates a barcode label to attach to the top ply of the spread. The spread then travels to the Paragon cutter. The cutter operator scans the barcode to retrieve the proper cut file. This eliminates the possibility of cutting an incorrect marker and wasting costly material.

Managers Access Metrics that Matter to Track Work in Process.
After cutting the job, the Paragon system generates a report detailing the number of units cut (“metrics that matter”). With this information, managers are able to compare the details of the job cut with the original AccuMark Easy Plan cut ticket and track work in progress more accurately.
